Friday Five – Did You Know?
Today we’re keeping it extremely light!!! Just some random facts in random order that might be fun to throw out there this weekend should the conversation lag. They are only meant to be entertaining and light – otherwise probably completely useless.
1) The 57 on Heinz ketchup bottle represents the varieties of pickle the company once had.
2) Leonardo da Vinci could write with one hand and draw with the other at the same time.
3) “Almost” is the longest word in the English language with all the letters in alphabetical order (and no repeated letters).
4) A ‘jiffy’ is an actual unit of time for 1/100th of a second
5) When opossums are playing ‘possum, they are not ‘playing’. They actually pass out from sheer terror.
BONUS – Camels have three eyelids to protect it from blowing sand.
Have a great weekend, spend some time with a buddy and impress all with your new knowledge!
Thanks for the smile today 🙂
Any day that contains a smile is a good one! Glad to give them away – and even more glad to receive. Thanks for giving one back! -M
:-))
Thanks for the fact relative to the possum. When Tresa say, honey I have an idea, bam I am out. It is a relief to realize this is from fear, not ruddiness.
Dean
Lolol, so true!
I have a feeling many spouses can relate to that feeling Dean. I have to be very careful to rephrase my ‘honey, I have an idea’ statement. Unfortunately, ‘I was just thinking…’ seems to have the same effect as the previous statement. – M
52 pickles…that’s a different pickle every week!
Wouldn’t that be fun to try a different pickle every week! Too bad that would mean 52 jars of pickles in the fridge!!! 🙂
Fun post for a Friday! Loved the buddy system cartoon. Too funny.
If you need more trivia on possums . . . here’s info about them competing with Tony the Tiger as marketing mascots.

I think my socks have lost their buddies and are too afraid to ‘fess up’!
Thanks for the travel ticket (link) to further adventures! Really enjoyed the marketing post on your blog.
Oh my, I recently terrorized a opossum! I went outside to chase him off our porch and he fell over. I only meant to chase him away…I thought he was just playing possum. 🙁
I love the comic…what is the deal with socks? I lost one yesterday.
Happy Weekend!
It does kind of make one feel bad to have scared a critter so much that they just faint away. Unfortunately for the opossum – it is not a pleasant critter to be around so the feeling of remorse doesn’t last long! Socks are tricky – it could be that one is sacrificing itself for the other so they don’t have to go back into that horribly stuffy shoe! That’s what buddies do for each other sometimes. 🙂
If I were a teenager, I’d feel my SAT scores climbing each time I read one of your posts. Since I’m not a teen, I just enjoy the smiles and laughs. 🙂
This one may not have raised that SAT score but they do say a sense of humor is a sign of intelligence so….laugh often! 🙂
I wonder what else Leonardo could do with both hands at the same time ….
Are we back to that plain brown wrapper thing again, Jenny?? -El
I have no idea what you mean … 😊
