Paraprosdokians: The voices in my head may not be real, but they have some good ideas!
Paraprosdokians (now that is an impressive word to throw around) are figures of speech in which the latter part of a sentence is unexpected and makes you laugh a bit! We thought we’d send you on to your weekend with a smile on your face. Check out the list below – be prepared to chuckle!
1. Since light travels faster than sound, some people appear bright until you hear them speak. (This is my personal favorite!)
2. They begin the evening news with ‘Good Evening,’ then proceed to tell you why it isn’t.
3. I didn’t say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you. (Kind of tied for personal favorite).
4. Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine.
And Finally…
5. I’m supposed to respect my elders, but it’s getting harder and harder for me to find one now. -M
Oh too funny, especially No. 1. ha!
Thanks Noreen – the first one got me too! – M

I look forward to your delightful and funny posts. Thank you for the smiles they put on my face. I have been busy lately and needed something to brighten my day. Thank you :o))))
You’re so welcome, Patricia. You’re kind comments put a smile on our faces, so I guess we’re even! -El
Fabulously funny. And I do have to learn to pronounce that word… 🙂
You and me both – M is going to have to say it to me a couple more times s-l-o-w-l-y I guess. Even though I don’t know how to say what they’re called, I want to come up with such sayings myself! -El
