You have more power over your own life than you may think. While you don’t have control over everything, you have control over what is most important. As Maya Angelo said:
When we change the way we look at the world . . . the world changes.
Oh, so true!
Probably easier said than done …
Probably – but maybe worth the effort to change one’s attitude rather than continue to be discontent! -El
On the money! 🙂
We’re with ya, Tess!
My favourite way of saying that is ‘If you don’t like it, change it and if you can’t change it change the way you think about it’. It is, of course, easier said than done, but when you get your head around it and widen out your perspective, your world changes! Having someone to talk the options through with you helps. Which is what mothers, sisters and friends are for. 🙂
Crafter, I totally agree.
I agree, Pauline – sometimes what we need is a trusted different perspective to put things in a proper perspective. Or as some long-ago author said: “Don’t sweat the small stuff!”
Definitely easier said than done, but good advice.
Agreed on the difficulty level! I like Pauline’s take on it – sometimes talking it out with one who comes from a different and trusted perspective can help broaden our view of any given issue.
