Friday Five – 100 WHAT?

Friday Five - 100 WHAT?

As we wrap up our 100th post celebration, our Friday Five is an opportunity for you to check out a few other lists that may be of interest. There’s an option for every part of you!

FOR YOUR MIND

Goodread’s 100 Books You Must Read Before You Die. I assume because afterward it will be too late!

FOR YOUR BODY

100 Superfoods for a Super You. Who needs Superman, Super-Human, or Super Hero when we can have Super You??

FOR YOUR SPIRIT

100 Ways to Be Kinder. Even if you only read and apply two, the world will be a better place!

FOR YOUR CONSCIENCE

100 Ways to Go Green Right Now. If you can get past the author’s insistence that it is urgent you do all 100 immediately (lighten up already!), there’s some good ideas.

FOR YOUR SENSE OF ADVENTURE

World’s Top 100 “Best Travel Destinations.” Even if you can’t actually travel anytime soon, you might want to check out this site and take one of the 100 virtual trips with their mini slide shows for each location (this counts as another one ‘for your mind’!).

THANKS FOR CELEBRATING WITH US THIS WEEK – YOU MADE IT A LOT MORE FUN!

And now, a parting shot that has nothing to do with anything:

Friday Five - 100 WHAT?

  1. Huh!! A great compilation! I am going to spend some time looking at all of them – but wanted to leave this note first because I can’t decide whether to be miffed or smug …….. In the books list there are only nine titles I haven’t read. Which made me feel quite well read and slightly smug 🙂 [But which really is just another advantage of having lived til retirement age.] And I know it’s nothing to do with you, but I also have a couple of complaints about the list – brace yourselves Personally I dislike the writing [style and subject matter] of one author who gets two mentions [Why?]. There is also an error, as the author/s of the list say ‘The Complete Works of Shakespeare’ fairly early on and then list ‘Hamlet’ separately – so it’s only 99 books 🙂 Their bad!!

Congrats on your blog’s longevity, our combined longevity and I’m wondering if I could be a fly on the wall for the old tattooed ladies and their golden oldies! Wouldn’t that be fun?

    1. The nine you haven’t read are probably the few I did read, Pauline – together we’ve mastered the list! In light of your observation, I thought about going back and changing it to “Goodread’s 99 books . . .” but that ruined the symmetry of the post!

Uh, ‘fun’ isn’t the word I’d use if I had to be in a room full of tattoo-covered rapping seniors!

  2. Interesting (as in strange) reading list! I’ve scored better on other book lists. Do I get half a point for having seen the movei?

  3. Clearly have to bookmark all these lists so I can figure out how accomplished (or not) I am… 🙂
